Like many places across the country, Massachusetts has added an energy efficiency standard into its building code.  That means that all new homes need to meet strict performance benchmarks throughout the process in order to obtain a Certificate of Occupancy at the end.  If you are not familiar with the Stretch Energy Code (or its cousin the 2018 IECC), it can be a little daunting.
